Scott Zensen, our founder
November 26th, 2008, Scott Zensen, the founder/owner/editor of MyWeekInMusic online magazine, passed away.
Scott supported the San Diego music scene with all his heart. He went to as many shows, of every variety, that he could…often sacrificing dinner that night to pay for entrance or maybe a bus ride to the show. He worked on his MyWeek magazine constantly, sometimes 18hrs straight.
There are a number of people that had promised Scott they would write an article, review a CD, do an interview, etc…but couldn’t deliver it prior to Scott’s passing. Also, many people were not able to be at his memorials.
Some of us had been talking about doing something to commemorate the anniversary…Rob Garbo had the idea to establish a website to showcase those promised articles as well as remembrances of Scott and new, original content too.
To that end, I’ve recently acquired the MyWeekMagazine domain name. Hosting and the Wordpress template is kindly provided by Tim Flack of Idynomite Media.

Thanks!

Congratulations Dok. I am liking what I see here.
hm
what’s so magical about songwriting is that it’s such a unique process for each songwriter and for each song! great article, scott! i laughed (at myself) at the mention of a metronome, as i am somewhat beat-deaf (a spin on tone-deafness)…
i love that this online mag is coming back to life! yea dr. dave!
Fascinating topic – as someone who took music lessons for years, and has written about music for many more, I still see nothing but a blank nothingness when I think about what it would be like to write a song. Probably why I admire folks like Scott who have the gift.
Oh well, maybe 2010…
