8 Ball Rack
Musical Style: Rock/Pop
8 Ball Rack is a defunct band that is here because I find it to be a significant progression of the individuals who made up the band. This was a band in 2001 and was comprised of Cathryn Beeks, Matt Silvia, Clint Welch, Drew Duff and Dave French. I really don't know many of the dynamics of the band. I received this CD by accident and it sat on my desk for over a month, unopened and unlistened to. I had no idea who they were? When I finally opened it up I was shocked because I kept hearing Cathryn's voice and Matt's guitar. So I looked at the liner notes and sure enough my ear was right. Now I listen to the CD as one of my favorites. Not because of who it was but the CD is pretty good! |

AJ PeacoxMusical Style: Acoustic/Indie/Ska
AJ Peacox. I still don't know much about AJ Peacox. I saw him a couple of times up at Hot Java Cafe and once at a Acoustic Alliance a long time ago. He is young and talented but other than that I just haven't seen him much in the last year or so. I believe last year he won a San Diego H.A.T. Award. But I don't know what his current status is at this time, or whether he is working on a CD.

Aaron BowenMusical Style: Acoustic/Folk/Alternative
Aaron Bowen. I have not had many opportunities to hear Aaron Bowen play. I have seen him play a couple of times and each time it seems he was doing something a little different. I see him around town a lot so I know he supports other people's music a lot. I also know that he is an awe inspiring guitarist. I have seen him play acoustic and electric and everything from Jazz to Folk and he write his own songs and music. If you see he is playing around town then I definitely recommend checking out Aaron Bowen!

AllegraMusical Style: Folk Rock/Pop/Rock
Allegra Allegra has one of the finest, most powerful and lovely voices in San Diego. Her voice is clear and crisp. Her songs are wonderful songs of life and wonder of moving through life. Most of the songs she sings are written by her but once in a while she likes to sing a few covers. I have been present at Kirin Sushi once where she almost didn't need the PA system and I could hear her outside at the bus stop, that's how powerful her voice is! If you get a chance to hear her sing LIVE then you will walk away a fan!

Astra Kelly
Musical Style: Rock/Folk Rock/Powerpop
2007 San Diego Music Award Nominee!
Astra Kelly immediately took me by storm. The first time I heard her sing I was mesmerized and she immediately went to my top five female singer/songwriters in town. Her day job is her Saturday radio show at 9pm where she plays local San Diego musicians on KPRI 102.1 a local radio station here in San Diego. She also now works for Studio West managing there as a liason between artist and the studio. Astra has a natural and beautiful, yet soulful voice and very melodic, solid song writing abilities. My favorite song is "Shotgun Mama" which she also sings with one of her other affiliations. A band with Cathryn Beeks, Marcia Claire and Bernadette Gallegos called "Not Your Mom". Her current affiliation is with Moxie as their lead singer. Astra has one Demo CD, I don't know if she has plans for an upcoming CD but she is very busy with her radio shows, work and Appearances and the Listen Local SD Showcase she host's at Dublin's Pub in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Anna Troy
Musical Style: Blues
2007 San Diego Music Award Nominee!
Anna Troy is a very talented young lady. She started off early learning piano, her parents friends with Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. At roughly 12 she learned guitar and played many coffee houses in San Diego as a duo with her sister Lindsey Troy. They got a Demo deal with Warner Bros Records. The duo was called The Troy's and were gaining in popularity, yet still they were barely in High School. They went on tour but at the same time the record industry changed. In 2003 they left the label and went their own ways following solo careers. Today Anna continues to grow and write her own music in the San Diego Music Scene. She has been billed as a headliner but is not afraid to open a show for others. She is a very versatile musician playing several instruments and her day job is teaching guitar. She has four albums on her own. Titles: Ain't No Man, Ain't Too Young, Dollhouse, Is This Fate. |

Audrey Surface
Musical Style: Jazz/Pop
Audrey Surface is another powerful voice in San Diego. The first time I heard her was at Cathryn Beeks CD release party and she was singing with Steph Johnson. She sings with Steph once in a while and sometimes with others. I once told her she should sing more often and on her own with her own band. She does do this once in a while but not enough in my humble opinion. She's that good and should be doing it more often. |

Bad Science Fiction
Musical Style: Rock/Psychedelic/Ambient
Bad Science Fiction is an ongoing project by Chuck Schiele to showcase some different songs that won't fit in with his band The Grams. It was also an opportunity to work with some of his favorite friends on a project. Band members include: Chuck Schiele, Michael Head, Simeon Flick, Rob Garbo and Anilh Ramashwar. If you go to the MySpace site you can hear 3 tunes from the band. My favorite is "Rise Up". Other titles are "Voodoo" and "Judas". |

Barbara Nesbitt (Band)
Musical Style: Rock/Country/Folk/Pop
2007 San Diego Music Award Nominee!
Barbara Nesbitt is the power behind this band. Barbara's songwriting talents are only surpassed by her beautiful voice. The rest of the band is comprised of members from other bands. Mike Spurgat (Deadline Friday/Citizen Band), Bill Coomes (Deadline Friday) and Marcia Claire (Citizen Band, Cindy Lee Berryhill) each one of these members are talents to behold. But the focus is on Barbara and her musical talents. All the rest of the band do wonderful vocals and melodies backing up Barbara's powerful voice. When they are all together it makes a full rich sound that exemplifies what a good band should be! Barbara is my favorite singer in town. No Contest! I could name several of her songs here but they are all my favorites, but my new favorites will be on her new CD. Her new CD will be coming out soon! Buy it you won't be sorry! |

Berkley Hart
Musical Style: Folk Rock/Acoustic/Folk
Berkley Hart is comprised of Jeff Berkley and Calman Hart. Jeff Berkley is also the main power behind Citizen Band. But his mellower songs are with his partner in crime Calman Hart. Jeff Berkley a supreme talent also has a keen wit and has been known to do comedic stories and one liners between songs. As a duo these guys shine both as very good songwriters and it is an equal partnership in creating the bands songs and sound. They have a strong following of fans and they have toured many times. The guys released a CD in March of 2006 called "Pocket Change" but my favorite album is "Something To Fall Back On". Other CD's Include Wreck 'N Sow and "Twelve" |

Bernadette GallegosMember Of: Not Your Mom
All I know about Bernadette is she is a hell of a drummer and that she is in the band "Not Your Mom" comprised of Astra Kelly, Cathryn Beeks, Marcia Claire and Bernadette. I have partied with her and her boyfriend but I really don't know much about her except she and her boyfriend Greg are really nice people! Two of the cool people in the San Diego Music Scene!

Big ToeMusical Style: Rock/Other/Rock
Big Toe is a three piece band that plays rock. They are a great band and one member of the band shows that having a disability is no reason to sit back and do nothing. His name is Mark Goffeney, he has had a disability since an early age and decided to pick an instrument he could play with his feet. He chose a guitar which is laid at his feet and this is how he plays for the band! Mark is an inspiration to his band mates and to everyone who ever sees them play. If you get a chance to see them play your in for a real treat. Mark also does the lead vocals for the band.

Bill CoomesMember Of: Deadline Friday, The Barbara Nesbitt Band, The Grams
Bill Coomes is one of the Best Drummers in town. but his best claim to fame is his vocal talents. He is the lead vocalist for Deadline Friday and does backup vocals in the Barbara Nesbitt Band and The Grams (current version). It has always been a curiosity of mine how drummers (even if they are really fit like Bill) who with the physicality of drumming, ever have the breathe left to use their voice. Drummers make it look easy, but check one out after a show and you will see them sweating and breathing heavy for a short while afterwards, its definitely strenuous activity. Also another question I have is: Do drummers ever feel claustrophobic being surrounded by stacks of equipment & the wall behind? They must sometimes feel like they don't have enough room to swing their sticks around to play!

Billy FritzMember Of: The Coyote Problem
Billy Fritz is one of my oldest friends in the San Diego Music Scene! We have a common bond of being the same age and being born on the same day, both of Scandinavian descent and there are a few other weird coincidences between us. We got along so well at one time he offered to teach me bass so he could take back up the guitar and we would become a band. I even came up with a dumb name for us called "Scandinavian Zen". At one time Billy told me he was in 7 or 8 bands. But eventually it caught up to him and he had to cut down. finances were also becoming a concern so he paired down to one band and is now driving a cab here in San Diego. Who knows someday you may get picked up by him. He is still an active member of Peter Bolland's Band "The Coyote Problem. I first met him as a member of Chelsea Flor's band "The Dreamstalkers" and we have been close friends ever since. I just found out he has become engaged for the first time in his life and I hope to be invited to his Wedding!

Billy Watson & His International Silver String Submarine BandMusical Style: Blues/ Jazz/Comedy
Billy Watson is a madman his shows are so fun and he has so much energy its infectious. Even if you are not a blues fan (I know I am) you will be up out of your seat and dancing around to music and antics. A supremely accomplished harmonica player. His band is very good at what they do. I don't often get to see many of his shows because they tend to be in North County. But when he gets down this way I try to see him play! I have seen him play with Anna Troy and other blues greats in town but he is most fun when with his own band. If you go to one of his shows you will remember it!

Brenda PannetonMusical Style: Acoustic/Folk/Indie
Brenda Panneton has a wonderful voice and is another person in the San Diego Music Scene that shares my birthday. Now I am sure she is not as old as me but we still share a birthday. Which means She , Billy and me have to have some kind of party this year for our birthdays. Brenda is fairly new to San Diego only being here a few years and in that time she has found a calling. She picked up and with the help of friends learned the guitar and starting writing songs. Good songs! She has a beautiful voice but her songs tend to be on the moody or sad side, but they are so good and well crafted songs and she has such a wonderful voice you don't get sad listening to them. Her day job is being a teacher but her new passion is her music. She just had her first CD release in April 2007. Pick up one of her CD's and find out why she is considered to be one of the best songwriters in North County! Buy Brenda Panneton: An Emotional Woman

Brooklyn is just starting out here in San Diego. She is currently working on her first CD with Kitchen Sync Productions. For the last year or so she has been doing gigs at restaurants and coffee houses and a few bars. She has such a beautiful voice. I once wrote this about her: "Brooklyn's voice quavers softly then ignites with a quiet fire roaring with soulful power. Her songs are well written and insightful. I can only expect to hear more good things from this young lady in the future."
Favorite Songs include: Changed My Mind, Clipped Wing, Carnival. |

ButterfaceMusical Style: Indie/Powerpop/Alternative
Butterface is a great band so far as I know? But they don't play that often. I first saw them at a acoustical event at Cosmos Cafe in La Mesa where the band is based. They had never done an acoustical set before being primarily a rock band fully plugged in! Their set was so good the crowd loved it and seemed to like them better than some of the other regular acoustic act that were playing there as well. I don't know what they sound like plugged up but they must be a great sounding band I can't imagine anything else! they look like they are beginning to start playing around town again so check out the gigs in the Current Gigs Section!

Call Down FireMusical Style: Indie/Pop/Rock/Alternative
Call Down Fire San Diego's indie-pop outfit captivates diverse audiences with well-crafted, lushly orchestrated tales of heartbreak and hope. Their music is a kaleidoscope of experimental pop, rock, folk, classical, and electronica. CDF's live show engages and surprises its audiences, taking them on an emotional ride from song to song. Call Down Fire's rapidly growing fanbase has created a local buzz, leading to college radio play, and a feature in the San Diego Union-Tribune as a band on the rise. Band members are: Brian Thomas - (vocals, guitars, synth), Chris Livdahl - (guitar, vocals, synth), Britney Sandoval - (synth, vocals), Dustin Wood - (drums), Tony Sandoval - (bass). You can find the premiere CD "Why You Headed West (2006)" can be found on CD Baby and downloaded off of iTunes.

Cape MayMusical Style: Indie/Garage/Classic Rock
Cape May is a band I don't know much about? The first time I heard them I thought they were pretty good. It was just before the San Diego Music Awards and they were playing at Winston's and asking people to vote for them for the award they were nominated in! The next time I saw them one of the band members was handing out free CD's at Farmer's Market in OB. I took the CD home and tried to play it and apparently the whole batch was botched and nothing was able to play on the CD. I emailed them but got no response. But they are a pretty good band but I have not seen them perform around San Diego in a long time.

Carlos OlmedaMusical Style: Acoustic/Folk Rock/Alternative
Carlos Olmeda is a supremely accomplished musician and singer/songwriter. And a damn nice guy! His songs are witty and fun sometimes and yet he can sing with such soul pouring out. Very melodic and soft sometimes his songs make you feel good inside. His sense of humor gets out once in a while even when he plays with his sometimes band. The tagline he sported was "Supermice, We're supernice!" I have yet to pick up one of Carlos CD's even though I want one really bad! I think that if I found a really nice woman I would like to be intimate with, I would probably put a Carlos Olmeda CD in the player to get things in the right romantic mood.

Carolann Ames I only saw Carolann once. At a Indie By Design gig at Humphrey's Backstage. She was joined by Hector Maldonado I think, but its been a while. She won the Grand Prize in the 2004 John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and she travels or tours extensively. I believe she lives here but doesn't do many shows here. But once in a while you can catch her! If you do then your in for a treat!. Her are some of her accomplishments in the last few years:
- - Winner:Grand Prize in the 2004 John Lennon Songwriting Contest
- - Honorable Mention 2006 Billboard Song Contest
- - Honorable Mention 2006 Great American Song Contest
- - Honorable Mention 2005 Mountain Stage New Song Festival Contest for

If you get a chance to go see her then it will be worth your time!

(The) Cathryn Beeks (Ordeal)Musical Style: Americana/Rock/Country/Pop
2006 & 2007 San Diego Music Award Nominee!
Cathryn Beeks What can I say about Cathryn that hasn't been said already. She is the force behind much of the music scene as we know it in San Diego. There are others who perform many of the same services that Cathryn provides. But if you ask someone in the music scene who is the shaker and mover in town. 9 times out of 10 they will tell you its Cathryn Beeks. But its Cathryn through her Listen Local SD organization that finds and provides many of the bookings in town and several showcases through Listen Local that gives us access to the many new and old performers in town. She is consistent and always provides a hell of a show. When she is not out promoting her shows and finding new talent that shows up in town, she provides us with her own brand of music with her band The Cathryn Beeks Oredeal or side projects like "Not Your Mom" or just doing backup vocals for many of her friends. She even finds time to do backup on many newly produced CD's in town. Other bands she has been in that I know of are: 8 Ball Rack which has some of my favorite songs on it and she also did a stint with a band called "The Ghandi Method", which members included many of the other shakers and movers inside the San Diego Music Scene. Cathryn has one of the best if not the best vocal qualities in town and when she writes songs with her writing partner Matt Silvia, you can hear her talents as a songwriter as well. Her vocals make you feel at home like you are with someone who loves you deeply. The depth of those vocals carries with it all the emotional lows and highs that show she has experienced everything that comes across in a song. Cathryn has one CD "Desert Music" which is definitely on sale anywhere she has a show whether she is singing or not. You can find the CD on sale at both her The Cathryn Beeks Ordeal website and her myspace site via Snowcap.

Chad FerranMusical Style: Acoustic/Folk/Rock/Indie
2007 San Diego Music Award Nominee!
Chad Ferran is the Drummer for Superunloader. One of my favorite bands in San Diego. Recently Chad has been doing other projects with other bands and solo on guitar. One project he has been trying to bring to San Diego has been some native Brazilian folk music and sounds. either as a solo artist playing either drums or guitar or he plays regularly with a band called Jalopy. Apparently these new projects were something Chad felt strongly about and since one of the members of Superunloader is going to Nashville (or is it memphis) to try and make it there, he is free to do his own thing for a while. But Chad seems right on the ball looking forward here in San Diego.

Chelsea FlorMusical Style: Acoustic/Pop/Folk Rock
Well I have been remiss here. Chelsea Flor should have been the first profile I did, being one of my dearest friends in the San Diego Music Scene. There was a time when you hardly saw me at a show without me tagging along with Chelsea. Chelsea impressed me right away with her strong vocals and solid song writing. One of the few artists in town that has the power to shatter a glass by hitting the right beautiful note. Her songs are stories of life and of real things in the real world that doesn't try to be presented in a girlie style and yet still have strong melodies and very good guitar rhythms and stylings. She plays both a 12 string and regular acoustic guitar. Her songs can easily stick in your mind in a good way as you hum along or try to sing the lyrics along with her. Chelsea used to be with many groups in her youth on the East coast and after some travels, ended up in San Diego where she co-founded the group "Siren's Lure". But she broke away to do her own songs, giving her songwriting abilities the ultimate test. To see if she can stand alone. Her songs were popular and many had a native american sound to them but she needed to fill out the sound a little and invited Billy Fritz to play with her.
Billy filled in some of that sound and occasionally made a couple of her songs really shine by adding some back-up right at the right place that made the songs work a little better than on their own. To this day I still miss his back-up vox on those songs. They will never be the quite the same to me without him. Before he left Chelsea the Chelsea Flor band (now called The Dreamstalkers) started to grow with the addition of Doktor Dave and Dan Ochipinti on Drums and percussion. Things went well for a time but Billy Fritz left the band to drive a cab, and devote his full time attention to The Coyote Problem. There was a slight and subtle disbanding as the others went to other projects. Chelsea herself intent on getting some of her songs recorded. She took up with the "Slugger Trask Band and worked with people on the Avalon Global Promotions, Bands of the World Tour. She even started playing on a regular basis with the Slugger Trask Band for a while doing backup vocals. Eventually she finally got one song recorded and put up on her myspace site. She is currently working on getting a better recording and several others with David Ybarra. But we have not heard any of the new recordings yet. Chelsea is working toward finishing the dream of finishing a CD and moving on to the next musical plateau.

Kerri Dopart (Kerri Dopart Trio)Musical Style: Country / Acoustic / Indie
Kerri Dopart is the unsung beauty of San Diego. She has been in San Diego for a while, coming to us from Newport, Rhode Island in 2001. She quietly performs all over San Diego and has a large fan base and yet no one knows who she is? But her new CD came out earlier this year shortly before summer. Soon thing should start to change that because the CD shows in my opinion she is ready for the big time. Kerri could easily be the next big thing to come out of San Diego. Her album "I Saw This Coming" is one of the best Cd's I have heard this year and one of the best I have reviewed. Her quiet style makes you get emotional while listening to the CD. She often plays around town as the Kerri Dopart Trio, with friends Kim Bishop on drums and Heather Hartwick on Bass/vocals.
As far as the CD is concerned I think it has what it takes because it really comes down to be just good songwriting and even better singing and playing. Kerri has a very easy style of singing and her voice is smooth, beautiful and pleasant to listen to, which works in tandem with a very smooth style of writing. In writing they say never write about something you don't know because the reader will be able to tell when you don't know what you are talking about. The songs Kerri is singing are about love and life and some of the changes our lives go through and journey it takes us on. Kerri has a very sensitive delivery on her songs and they make you want to contemplate some of the things you are similarly going through in your own life.
Most of the songs are uplifting tales of love or of loving someone and hoping they feel the same. Of Family and love of life in general and even some the love for things we used to enjoy before the advent of the electronic medium as in the very thoughtful and sensitive song "Letters". Songs of thinking about what the other person is feeling or the possible separation of that loved one, all universal feelings we all go through at one time or another in our lives. This is a very mellow listening album but in no way in my opinion is it depressing, but instead thought provoking. They are more of the hopes and dreams we all have. Now most of us when we listen to an album have favorite songs or songs that are just not your favorite. But this is one of those rare albums where for me every song is a winner. I could sit and listen to this album over and over and still enjoy it the same the fifth time as I did the first.
" I Saw this Coming" By Kerri Dopart. This is Kerri's first full CD, but her second CD to release. You can find it for sale on her myspace site. Her First CD was called "Unrequited Love Songs" released the year before her new album. March 2006.

Kim DevineMusical Style: Folk Rock / Pop / Acoustic
Kim Devine has a wonderful voice, strong vocals with a soft sound. Her songs are easy going and about personal experiences that are experienced by everyone at one time or another. Many of us have teased her about her height but she has a big heart and a great sense of humor. So she just goes with the flow and laughs with everyone. But you can't fault her for talent which she abounds with! Sometimes I have taken pictures of her and wondered why she uses such a large guitar when there are great smaller ones available, but the Martin acoustic she uses is her instrument of choice.
On her myspace site it quotes her sound and style to be most like that of Michelle Branch, or the angelic voice of Jewel, mixed in with the alternative nature of Damien Rice. But when I have listened to her albums and to her live, she sounds like Kim Devine to me. She came to San Diego...a transplant from Massachusetts and now spends most of her time living in L.A. but still comes down to San Diego for shows. There is tons more you can read about Kim on her website or Myspace site but I just wanted to touch on a couple more things. She has won many awards in San Diego and now is getting some international attention in various song writing competitions.

Kyle PhelanMusical Style: Acoustic/Pop/Soul
San Diego Music Award Nominee!
From the Kyle Phelan Press Kit - Condensed
Kyle Phelan is an energetic young man with a single-minded goal and focus on his music that puts him in a special class. At just 20 years old, his refreshing sound and guitar playing ability prove to show maturity beyond his years.
His major musical influences include John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Gavin DeGraw, whose sounds have seasoned Kyle's creative style. Constantly developing, Kyle has a sense of the bluesy-rock-pop sound that, for now, characterizes who he is. At seventeen, he created his first album, with the help of a devoted friend and song-writing partner, Sean Mitchell.
Since that time he has appeared on San Diego's local KUSI-TV's morning news program, he was also invited to perform for a third consecutive year at San Diego's yearly "Concerts on the Square" event at Horton Plaza. He recently has been featured on KPRI's Saturday night Homegrown Hour. Kyle has played gigs at various venues in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego and has opened for other more established artists in the area. He was also a great hit at the San Diego County Fair over the past two years, playing on 7 stages.
His second CD "I'll Be Ready" was released in January 06. Even though his first CD "My Side Of Soul" exhibited his vocal and musical potential, "I'll Be Ready" clearly displays growth in both songwriting and vocals. After finalizing songs for his third recording, Kyle released his self-titled album, dubbed "The White Album", on July 12th 2007 at House of Blues San Diego. Kyle doesn't pretend to believe he has arrived. He's just glad to know he's on the road. All his Cd's can be bought on his MySpace and personal website.
Discography:
Released 2005 "My Side of Soul," Includes songs: On Tour, I'll Be Ready, Bright Lights.
Released 2006 "I'll Be Ready," Includes songs: 13A, The Chase, Where Will You Go?
Released 2007 "Kyle Phelan," Self-Titled Includes songs: Beautiful Danger, Sleepless Nights, Bright Lights

Laura KuebelMusical Style: Acoustic/Folk Rock/Indie
Laura Kuebel is a wonderful singer/songwriter who frequents many coffee houses and bars to sing with a great...soft yet, strong voice that makes you feel comfortable and makes you think about her lyrics. Many songs seem sad about the tribulations of young women of today. Laura also occasionally hosts for The Brass Rail and other venues around town. You also find her writing a few articles for various publications around town as well as this one soon. You often find her the host at the open mic at the Hot Java Cafe but that may be a thing of the past now. Lately she has been playing Banjo with the Bigfellas or just doing her own thing at some of the cool venues around town. Laura has been rumored to be working on her first CD and may soon be ready with all the great tunes she has written this past year. One of my favorite songs by Laura was untitled for a very long time but is now titled as "Nowhere".

The GramsMusical Style: Acoustic / Rock / Indie
2005, 2006, 2007 San Diego Music Awards Nominee
2006 San Diego Music Awards Winners-Best Americana
The Grams are one of my favorite bands. The last couple of years they have been nominated 3 times for the San Diego Music Awards and won once in the category: Best Americana 2006. The band is led by Chuck Schiele who plays rhythm and lead guitar and provides lead vocals and writes most of the songs. The other two are a married couple, Sweet Elise on Violin which is one of the things that give the band its unique sound. And Craig Yerkes who is a phenomenal lead acoustic guitar player who also occasionally does lead vocals. Bart Mendoza was quoted to say Elise's violin gives the band its unique sound and that is certainly true it is a feather in the bands cap, but without Chucks songwriting and rhythym's, Craig's absolute mastery of his craft, then there would be no defining sound for the Grams. There would be no Grams!
This last year has brought around some changes in the band with the addition of Bass player, Tony Sandoval. And the percussion playing by two on and off again percussionist's Rob Garbo and Bill Coomes. But the core will always be Chuck, Elise and Craig. ...who "are" The Grams. One of the great things about The Grams is what you hear "live" is what you will hear on their CD. Its better "live" but the CD was a well crafted piece of engineering and recording. The song writing is in a class of its own.
Last years successful outcome of their first album has spurred The Grams into the studio once again to put the finishing touches on their second CD which, rumor has said..."will be as good if not better than the last one". The Grams are really excited about this one! You can buy the self-titled CD "The Grams" at their myspace site or their website thegrams.net. But the best way to buy their CD is when you hear them perform "live".

The Wild TruthMusical Style: Rock / Powerpop / Glam
The first time I heard the The Wild Truth. I was so freakin' impressed on how good a hard rock band they were! Really well written songs and still they wailed. Even my daughter who is a big critic on what she considers a rock band, was impressed with The Wild Truth. It was at the Jumping Turtle in San Marcos. (my daughter saw them later) It was one of my first Listen Local Gigs to go to, not the first. I also saw Paige Aufhammer and Dave Howard for the first time and a couple of other bands. When I finally got The Wild Truth CD. I was even more impressed because at the Jumping Turtle they were really loud. I like loud. But the album was so good, the songs were so socially biting that it was fun stuff. I was really glad I picked it up...and then they stopped playing.
Sven Eric Seaholm...whom I met and made friends with was concentrating on his Studio work and his solo career that was in the works. Apparently while still performing with The Wild Truth he made a solo album and when I met him he was working on another. That CD has just been nominated for Best Local Recording in 2007's San Diego Music Awards. But as for the Wild Truth...I heard they are coming back? And I saw just lately they are playing at Humphrey's Backstage on August 25th. Cool!!!
You Can Buy The Wild Truths Album "This Golden Era" at The Wild Truth Website or on CDBaby
