HB asks: Why is it so freakin’ HOT!

But (kinda) seriously folks, it has been “freakin’” hot here in San Diego for about a week now. It can stop anytime now. I’m ready, aren’t you?
It’s supposed to be hot this time of year. Maybe not THIS hot, but hot. What actually makes it so hot, is a combination of timing and circumstance.
Timing, as in the Earth’s orbit being closest to the sun right now. And circumstance being that the Earth has been shown to be getting warmer and warmer overall…especially in recent history.
Many believe the “Greenhouse Effect” is the culprit. That, since our industrial age, the human race has spewed out more carbon dioxide than the naturally occurring systems of the Earth can cope with.
Others believe it’s possible that “global warming” is a hitherto unknown, long-term cycle the Earth just has to go through.
Whichever theory you subscribe to, the efforts you make to help reduce greenhouse gases, reduce waste, etc…will help. The more you can convince your friends and neighbors, and especially your government to do what they can…the more effective our efforts will be.
On the other hand, all the hot air coming from Washington is probably the most immediate cause. It might cool off after the election, but who knows?

A lot of women were asking to try on my hat. I thought that was pretty cool and decided to get pics of them with my phone so I could remember them. Many I’ve never seen again, but most I see at shows every once in awhile. There’s a few I see pretty regularly at various shows. They’re ALL very cool people!

Fascinating topic – as someone who took music lessons for years, and has written about music for many more, I still see nothing but a blank nothingness when I think about what it would be like to write a song. Probably why I admire folks like Scott who have the gift.
Oh well, maybe 2010…
