Well its time for another MyWeek in music! So what shall I write about? I did see music this week. But as the week encroaches on us here in Sunny San Diego. I thought it might be prudent to tell people who do not live here that sunny it may be but it gets cold too! Oh it's not Milwaukee or Maine or New York cold. But if your not used to it and acclimatized to it, then you'd realize its cold enough. Why talk about weather? Well because the weather is putting a real crimp on what music I get to see and hear during the week!
Point in case I started out the week going to the 2nd event of the 2nd Annual Ocean Beach Holiday Music Festival, Food & Toy Drive. (More below) The first being the 2nd's O.B. Parade. Beach Music Mafia has been providing the music for the events and last Wednesday had an extravaganza of performers who played from 4pm to 8pm singing several songs. One band after another. They are doing the same thing tomorrow in their third event of the season and again Beach Music Mafia will be having several artists from 4pm to 8pm.
The advertisement for that event is shown here and these will be the performers for that event:
DEC 13, 3PM-8PM

Last year our contributions led to feeding 56 families/Sr. citizens. I'm going for 100, this year. Grab a soup and come on down and have fun doing the good work with us. Who knows, it just might be the thing to make Santa's "nice" list, after all? Visit http://myspace.com/beachmusicmafia to learn more.
Featuring: Hargo, Laura Kuebel, Chelsea Flor, Jason Turtle, Jimmy Ruelas, Jeff Berkley, Astra Kelly, Jefferson Jay, Barbara Nesbitt, Podunk Nowhere; Sara Petite, Chad Farran, Joey Harris, OB Chuck, Shoestring Strap
Come on down and listen to a lot of great San Diego Performers and donate some Food or Toys for the needy it's a good cause. Lets Out do last weeks donations. We can all do so much better. Even if you've seen all these folks before. Come down and donate. In a very depressing month for some people you can help to brighten up some lives with a simple and small donation!
There is a second event if you cannot make that one that Beach Music Mafia is presenting @ O'Connell's.
One of my favorite bars in San Diego, come on down with that toy and/or food and then listen to more great music all in the name of fun and helping needy families in San Diego:

There may be some slight confusion on which event this is because I personally have seen several working titles for this event. It has been called the Winter Bash and the Holiday Bash and now the Holiday Christmas Bash. But if you saw the word Bash in the title then this is the event you've been waiting for!
Now there are several other special events happening during the remainder of this month that I would like to point out! Not all provided by Beach Music Mafia.

I said I would talk about what MyWeek was about so here goes!
On last Wednesday I was riding my bike in O.B. intending to go to the music event at Farmers Market in O.B. But first I was going to go home and change because it is a lot easier to ride a bike for exercise in shorts. I had time and would only be a little late. But chance wouldn't have any of that! On one of the hills I was climbing and then coming back down I stopped to cross Sunset Cliffs Blvd and was spotted by Chelsea Flor who honked at me to get my attention. She asked me to meet her at Chuck's to help load PA equipment and other stuff. So after following her to the destination. We loaded equipment and chuck and Chelsea said they would meet me down there. Now if I was being intelligent at the time I would have gone home and changed but the cold must have been affecting my thought processes. So I went down and helped (not much) in all my shorted glory. It was ok for a bit because I had music to warm my soul. Hargo went up to play first then there were so many performers and friends who started showing up that it was hard to keep track of who was playing and who just came down for the festivities. I do remember Barbara Nesbitt and Bill Coomes playing as well as the Dreamstalkers and Scott Wilson with friends (then) Doktor Dave and Dan Ochipinti. Julie Mack, Siren's Lure, Will Edwards, Liz Abbott & Kent Johnson (although I don't know if that is their stage name [grin]) and many more! And it all wound up to The Grams finishing off the evening! It was lots of fun and some of the folks who stopped by were Lee Coulter and his wife and Johnny from Podunk Nowhere and Laura Kuebel. A few other friends of music stopped by as well like Debbie Siegelman, (I think or maybe that was the week before) and Tom and many O.Bceans. O.B. rocked that night! The moral though is not to be distracted by pretty women honking at you or the lure or music when you are in shorts and all sweaty from exercise on a beach town in December with thin blood. The outcome will almost inevitably be the Flu or a cold. Which caught up to me on Friday but I was lucky enough for it to go away by Saturday for my Daughter's birthday! Well I'm Out! Ciao!
